The main difference: The twin XL bed is slightly bigger than a twin, with dimensions of 80” x 39”, making it 5 inches longer. This additional length makes the twin XL a better option for taller sleepers, who often find their feet dangling off the end of a twin bed. Twin beds are typically 75” in length.
